Is automated following on Twitter good?

I saw some articles on doing automated following on the social media sites like Twitter saying that it can sometimes be good to increase your follower growth quickly. I saw some other articles that said it wasn't good to do that.

Has anyone tried this or does anyone know if automated following is good or not?

I think that doing automated following can have it's pluses and minuses. If you are going to be doing automated following then you are going to get a high amount of junk or spam accounts as followers. That in itself can serve to prevent some real follows, either people or businesses, from following you.

The good point, if you see it that way, is that you can grow the amount of followers you have. You'll have a lot of worthless followers but some people like to have high numbers for the looks of it I guess.

I really don't know for sure if automated following is good or bad but it seems like there is an awful lot of people doing it. Many times when I follow a person or business they will follow me right back in a matter of seconds.

It's probably ok if that many people are doing it but check it out further because I don't know much about it.

whether automated following is good or not is something that is something that depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you want lots of followers more quickly and don't care if they are actually all real people and not fake accounts then I guess it's good.

The think with automated following is that you will get a high percentage of junk, spam or otherwise worthless followers and those can and will breed more of the same.

If you want inflated follower numbers and don't care if they are of any kind of good use or quality then automated following is fine. If you want real and quality only (or a higher percentage) then automated following is not what you'll want to do.

My main goal was to grow my follower base but I guess if many are fake then it wouldn't do any good anyway.

You can probably do the automated following and just delete the followers that you think are fake.

I thought about doing that myself. I guess as long as I didn't have to delete a lot of them then it shouldn't take too long but I have never done that so I don't know how much time it would take.

It probably will not take long unless you have thousands to delete.

I do not like automated social dealings myself but I see that even many businesses do it. It must have some value to them but it is not my methods.

Automated followers are just waste of time. Few months ago I have used these type of services but the result is not so good. Initially you will get huge amount of followers but gradually it will drop down because most followers are from Fake accounts. Better increase followership manually. Connect with people in Twitter and follow them.

I have had many occasions lately where adult related accounts followed me and I found out several days later about it and had to block them.

If I would have had my account doing automated following then I would have been following those accounts and then when people checked out who I was following they would have seen those and probably not followed me.

There are just too many negatives for me to like automated following.

Well with automated following of accounts you are going to wind up following all kinds of accounts you probably won't want or at least expect.

Your chance of getting banned from Twitter are every high if you are even thinking of running automated scripts. These are followers that are mainly freebie seekers and from tier 3 countries. Twitter is on a banning spree lately, so try to avoid such thing as there will be no engagement on your profile.

If you are looking for automated followers / following for your single personal account then its not a good idea for you.

Instead of that you can use Follow/Unfollow method for getting good number of followers .

Look for the accounts in specific niche in which you are working , follow them . Before following any account check for the profile pic , profile completeness , latest tweets etc if a user is active user follow him/her.

After 2 days check whether that user followed you back or not if he/she does follow you don't do anything if not then just simply unfollow that one.

Don't follow more then 100 users / hour , 1000 users / day .

There are certain limits for doing follow / unfollow if you are doing within limits its good to go in case you cross the limit your account will get shadow banned or it can be banned too.
