Do you use the Jetpack by Wordpress plugin?

Have you searched in the Wordpress repository? I have found several different plugins for widgets so you would just need to find one that has what you need in particular.
Yes I did a little searching but couldn't find what I was looking for. I found some others but they have not been updated in a long time so I avoided those.

The plugin has been created by Automattic, the guys behind Wordpress.com. The fact that it contain more than 30 module makes me want to avoid it at all costs, you might not end up using all of them and why would one need every possible function in one single plugin?
You're right about the Jetpack plugin, it is a very heavy plugin and most people will not need or even want to use all of the features it has.

I think that it is more geared towards new WordPress users and that's why they have so many functions built into it.

After doing some testing I found that several of the components of Jetpack are very heavy resource users, especially RAM, so people need to think about the impact the Jetpack plugin will have on their site's performance.

I was using this plugin but after the latest update it disconnected my from wordpress.com and I get a warning about it. It says to deactivate and then reactive and do the approval again but it still is not working. I even removed the plugin completely and reinstalled it with no luck in fixing the issue. I will be looking for alternatives but it should not be too difficult since I only use a couple of the features.

I had that problem on a couple of my sites but after deactivating and reactivating the plugin it allowed me to connect to wordpress without any issues.

I saw some people discussing this on another site and it seems like many people are having that problem. Maybe they will fix the problem and have an update for it soon since many people seem to be experiencing this.

Usually they are on top of things with updates to fix problems but I have not seen an update being released yet. Hopefully something will happen soon to fix this since so many people are having this problem.

It's been 2 weeks with no updates for it so it must not be a priority or something else is causing the problem.

I don't think they are trying real hard to get on top of this problem since they haven't released an update to fix it. Maybe people should look for alternatives to use instead.

I know several people that have stopped using it for one reason or another recently. It's one of the most installed and used plugins in the Wordpress repository so if there are any kind of issues that are causing people to not use it can hurt that status.

It's a shame because it was one of the first plugins that I was using and it used to have less problems and if there were any problems they were fixed quickly.

Well the plugin has changed quite a bit over time and especially recently. They now have a free and premium model for the plugin and there are many features that are only available in the paid version of the plugin.

Lots of things have changed with the way they do things with the plugin and sometimes there are effects that are negative in nature. I a think the updates and listening to people is more geared towards the premium users of the plugin.

That makes it seem even worse though. If they have paid versions that have problems then that will make people not very happy with them and stop paying.

They have a new update as of around 2 days ago so maybe they fixed the issue.

I got the notice from Wordfence that there was an update but I have not updated yet. I will probably do that later today.
I like some of the modules of the Jetpack plugin but there is so much that I don't need that I have decided that I will most likely just find alternatives and go away from using it.

I am just going to find other plugins to do the things I need that I use Jetpack for now. There is just too much junk and bloat that I don't need for my blog that is in it.

Jetpack does have a lot of components that many people don't need but I think they are just trying to cover a broad range of common needs that many people need and giving them a simple solution in a single plugin.

I think that no matter who you are you will not use all the parts so it is going to have much unneeded stuff and a waste.
