There are always some Pros & Cons if you are using any such plugin .

W3-Total-Cache never ever use that plugin , One of my client was having that plugin installed over his main money site and it was creating a lots of problem over there. His hosting provider send him mail to check why his website is using all of the server resources allocated to him .

We tried to shift the site from one server to another one and boom similar problem occur there too . Now we started looking for theme & plugin codes and then we got to know what was the main problem.

We tried to remove the W3-Total-Cache and it was hell lot of work , in mid we decided to go for re-customization of website from scratch.

So before using any Cache Plugin look for its reviews , also check whether the authors of that plugin are still providing support or not.

I also saw some bad things about W3 Total Cache and it can use a lot of your web hosting resources and alot of your RAM for your web hosting. Some blogger friends of mine were using that 1 and they kept getting resource warnings from their web hosting so you should be careful of that 1.

I am using super cache and I tested the loading times before and after and this plugin made mine faster by a little more than 1 second savings in time. There is one called Rocket but it is paid and it is supposed to be the best one that many people think.

Then is it better to just not use a cache plugin so as to avoid anything bad?

I never used any cache plugin for my blog. All of my needs are fulfilled by Cloudflare. I have activated its cache function and my website loads very fastly. Cache plugins really create headache for and there settings will screw you if you don't have any idea about it.

I was using W3 total cache and I thought it was doing a good job. Then I heard some bad things about it and removed it and found that my blog was loading faster by about a half of a second. I read that this can happen because it uses a lot of your web hosting resources.

I really don't have a recommendation for which is best but you might want to check into W3 total cache before using it.

I use the WP super cache plugin on my blog and I have not had any problems with it. It helped my blog load faster by almost 1 second. I have not tried other but this one was recommended to me by a blogger who has used it a lot time.

That is one of the cache plugins that I was looking at replacing W3 total cache with. Have you had any issues with it at all?

If cloudflare makes your blog faster then wouldn't it be even faster if you used a cache plugin with cloudflare? That way you have 2 things that can make your blog faster.

I have had no issues at all and it is working as I want it to and my blog is faster from it so I am pleased with it.

You might want to take a look into the Comet Cache plugin. I have recently been using it on a couple of my sites and I am getting great results. It's also a free plugin if that matters.

Here is the link to the plugin's information page on the Wordpress site:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/comet-cache/

They have a Free and Paid/Pro version but I think the free one will be all that's needed. I have tried both versions and there was nothing noticeable as far as performance or speed differences between the 2 versions.

You're welcome Maria. You can also do a search for reviews on it and you will see that it gets really great reviews.

I read some reviews on it and it looked good so I downloaded it to my blog. I have not activated and set it up yet because I have not had the time but I will do that in the next couple of days. Thanks Dean
