What wordpress themes are good for a website and marketing?

I have been looking at many different wordpress themes but don't know which ones are good to use on my website that will have also some marketing advertizements on it.

Is there some that are better for this or where can I get some good ones for this purpose?

There are a lot of themes that would work good for your needs. It is going to depend on what theme you like and what looks and works good on your site.

I have seen a lot of people using a "Newspaper" style theme lately. These work well for showcasing your articles and having lots of information and images on your home page.

I would say that the best thing to do would be to go and look at some themes and see what you like. Then if you see one you like and you aren't sure it will work for your needs, you can just post here and some members can take a look at it for you.

Yes, that one can be used for other things as well. It's called a "Magazine" style because of how it's laid out and how it looks, not what it's for in particular.

Thank you for the help. I really like that theme and if you say it can work then I will think about this one. I am still looking at some other theme but there are so many on the internet then it takes a long time to see many of them. This one I like the best so far.

Another place that you might want to check out is themeforest.net. They have a nice selection of themes also. Just make sure to check the date of the last update for the themes since many of them are not updated regularly so there could be issues with being compatible with the latest version of WordPress and some plugins.

Look for the more recently updated themes and themes from developers that have many offerings since they tend to be more active and update their themes more often.

The updates are done by the developer/publisher of the theme, so it's just whenever they get them out. That is basically just a marketplace for developers/designers/publishers to sell there products and the marketplace gets a cut.

When things get updated is up to the one selling the theme. Some of the good ones have regular updates and get a good reputation for them and their support, so that helps sales. Other sellers just don't seem to care, that's why it's always good to check their feedback and even the comments for the themes.

If you see one you like, just make sure to do a little research on it before buying to make sure everything looks good.

Very good point! A marketing blog/website needs to pay more attention to SEO since one of the main purposes of a marketing site is to make money. Better SEO means better rankings and that in turn can increase earnings.

You are welcome Argus. To be honest with you I haven't seen much difference in updates happening whether it's for paid or free themes.

I do know that the themes that come with your Wordpress installation (the year themes) do tend to get frequent update. Other than that I really just think it depends on the developer/publisher of the theme.

Well, that's going to be difficult to be able to tell. If you are really wanting a a good theme that has some good SEO characteristics then you can probably do a Google search for themes that work well for SEO.

However, I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the theme is from a good source/supplier of themes as they do take some things into consideration as far as SEO. Plus there are a lot of good SEO plugins that can help improve the SEO of your site that you can use.

If it was me, i'd just go after a good theme that does what I want and will look like I want and then use a good SEO plugin.
