Do you make good money from web hosting affiliate programs?

I have been marketing these on my blog since I started it and it seems like they have times when the sales are good and happen often and other where it will go several weeks or longer with no sales.

Do web hosting affiliate sales have lots of slow periods with sales or is it me?

It's going to depend on the email list. If you have a good targeted email list then you might do well and i your email list is not for a niche that would find interest in web hosting offers then it probably won't do well at all.

There are other means that can work well if done properly. Things like social media marketing to your site with information or reviews on the web hosts can often do well if you have a good following.

It all depends on what is available to you and the time and effort that you are willing to put into it.

I only make a little money from web hosting affiliate sales. Some times it is better and some times worse. Yes there are slow periods and that is part of the reason why we should not count on just 1 kind of affiliate products to market.

I know but the good and bad times just vary so much. I think the higher commissions are what was in my eyes instead of how steady something was.

Lots of people do that mate. I am also guilty of looking at commission amounts mostly some times.

I used to make good money long ago but now it isn't doing a lot of sales. I think that because there is so much competition it's hurting it for everyone who is a web hosting affiliate.

Yes I agree on that. If you look on most websites there is many ads for web hosting service and probably because some pay real good.

I have even seen and been working with some that pay you more in commissions than they made for the whole sale. I guess they are really banking on people staying with them long term.

I saw that too but I think it is because they have such a high profit margin and people will stay with the same host for a long time so they will make their money back and then some.

I read something somewhere that said that most people will stay with the same web host for 2-3 years on average so I think that they just consider the first year a loss to get the customer and the following year or years are mostly profit.

Yes, I am earning with this kind of program. It is just very easy and I am happy doing it. I will just share the link on facebook and twitter and then I will have many invites. They will usually sign up and then I will have my commission. It is so easy to do. I am encouraging people to be like me for extra income.

I can believe that and that is probably a big reason why the hosting affiliate programs pay real good commissions for their sales. They also have real high renewal rates for their web hosting at most hosts so that is a part I think too.
