How do I choose a niche?

I want to try to start a second niche to go into to try to see how it does. I have been trying to decide but I really don't know because the one that I am in now is about my favorite things.

How do I decide on a second niche to try to go into? Do I pick something else I like or should I perhaps pick something that is very popular?

I just don't know how to pick. :(

Personally,I always go for a niche I have passion for.Because the will come a time you feel bored and down and if it a niche you didn.t have passion for you might stop blogging.

It been a popular niche or not doesn,t matter. You can make a niche popular by being consistent. So choose a niche you 'll be consistent and passionate about.

You should try looking for something that's searched a lot, and then divide it into subcategories afterwards you can pick a subcategory that you find interesting so you would be able to be interested in finding out interesting stuff about it and post it yourself. Always go with something that's creative and is a bit different from what others have.

Personally, I think that a great niche choice must contain BOTH things: A- It's got to be something you love and B it's got to be something you know a good deal about. Basically because if you pick something you love but don't know much about you'll have to spend a good deal of your time researching your niche and this time could be used to implement features on your site or do SEO research.

I was thinking about that but what if the niches I like are not good for making money?

That sounds like what I was wanting to do but how do I know what is searched for a lot?

Those are good points to make and I was thinking something like that myself but how do I know if what I pick will be something that I can make profitable?

Well, there are no guarantees. My advice to you is to pick something that you know a lot of people like too. Do some research on the topic, search for similar sites on the niche and for tips on how to make it profitable. For example, I write about spirituality because it's a topic that fascinates me and because I know it fascinates many people too. Now I love to smoke pipes but I would never pick that as my niche because I know that only a select few like to smoke too. Try and be as general as you can with your niche (Ex: I don't write about a specific religion I write about spirituality as a whole, vast subject.)

If you pick something that you like then I think that can make doing some of the tasks easier because you like them but you still need to check and see if that niche is 1 that you can make money in. some of the niches are very flooded and competitive so you might have to look hard for one to do good in.

I would try to pick something that is popular and profitable but not something that is just a trend but something that will be and has been popular for a long time.

You don't want to get going well in a niche only to find that it's trend is over.

I would choose what you think will be best and easiest for you to keep going with. Then after you have decided then you can look for ways to monetize it. You can monetize any niche from what I have seen but you might have to be creative sometime.

Do you think that because you are not being specific about a particular religion that helps to get more people to your site?

I was thinking about staying away from the niches that have a lot of competition but I don't know how to tell which those are.

I am trying to do that but having trouble knowing which those are.

I read something about being able to make any niche profitable. I just have to find the right niche first.

I had that same problem but I started reading things on some blogs and around the social media websites and got some good ideas. The social media websites have a lot of ideas there around if you just keep your eyes open.

Yep! As long as you are creative then you can make anything monetizable these days. Sometime you have to do a lot of looking and thinking but it can be done.

I have been reading and looking around and have some ideas. I am still trying to decide though.

Are you meaning you are wanting to pick a niche to make money with or just for fun?
I was wanting something that would work for both of those.

You should probably choose something that interests you so that you will want to stay with it. It should be something that there is a big enough market for since you want to make money from it also.

I have always thought that choosing a niche to get involved in is always better if you have first hand knowledge about. It can make it easier to find the right people that might be interested in what you are marketing.

I do think that you also have to pick something that is at least a little popular because if you don't then attracting enough people might be harder.

I just have a hard time knowing if there is a big market for something or not. I don't know how to find that data.

That's one thing I was thinking about myself. I think I just need to find a way to see what is popular and see if there is anything I know about.
