Which is Fast WP or Joomla?

If we put WP and Joomla on benchmark, who would win?
I have preference to Joomla, but I would trade this love for speed.

It's going to depend on many things and it would be hard to make a direct comparison of the two without know a lot of different factors.

Wordpress is not know as being known for it's speed so maybe Joomla if all was equal but again it would be hard without knowing a lot more information.

I have read several articles on this and what I have most commonly seen said is that they are very similar in loading speeds. It's said that it would just come down to the content on a given site and how it is handled.

Drupal is supposed to be faster than either Wordpress or Joomla though, based on what I have read.
