I'm moving to Hostgator

After using JustHost as my web host provider for more than five years, I'm finally calling it quits. I've discovered that they're charging me so much for a service that I could avail of at another Web host provider at a much cheaper price. I've been mostly satisfied with their service, but lately, it has been rocky and now I've decided to pull the plug.

I've searched around the web for a great web host and I found Hostgator to be the best and one of the cheapest. I do hope that the customer service of hostgator is as responsive as justhost. Aside from that, I'm pretty confident that I'll be happy with my new web host provider. Wish me luck guys.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Hostgator is owned by the same company that owns JustHost and they basically use all the same service people and just about everything else. You will be basically getting the same hosting under a different name.

They are owned by EIG (Google it) and they own many web hosting companies and they are all pretty much the same, not good!

Hostgator used to be good till they were bought by EIG but since then they have gone downhill. Do some Google searches on EIG and the problems and nightmares that a whole lot of people have had and are having with them.

Again, I am sorry to be the one to break this to you but hopefully you didn't pay for a long term or are able to get a refund by the time you realize that you gained nothing by changing from one EIG host to another.

Do some research on them and you will see what I mean.

I have used Hostgator in the past and all I can say is that their service is horrible. When the servers are up, then it's very quick, working at its best. However if you have any problems, their customer is awful, and they most likely won't help you out the way you want them to.

The cheap cost is not worth all the downsides to it. You should rely on other kinds of hosting providers, but Hostgator should be a no-go for you.

I have been thinking abour doing that soon and I'd love to hear your experiences with a host change. Keep in mind though that sometimes the cheapest option isn't necessarily the most cost effective. Keep
Us updated.

Holy crap! I'm so glad that I haven't pushed through with the transfer just yet! Yes I'm still doing some research on which hosting site to go with. I'm just wondering why HostGator is mostly on the top of the list of great hosting sites. Again, thanks for the heads up.

I'm also currently looking into 1&1 hosting as they offer one of the best discounts during the first year. I could get hosting applicable for one site at $0.99 for 12 months! Has anybody had any experience with this hosting company?

I also am thinking about iPage as they also offer one of the lowest hosting packages. I'm not pretty sure about their dependability though...

You should avoid 1&1 also. Google them and see the kinds of problems people have had with them. Don't get me wrong, some people do fine with them but using them is a gamble! I don't gamble when it comes to my sites or my domains.

One of the big problems that many people have with 1&1 is that after you leave them they still continue billing your credit card or whatever form of payment you use. You then have to fight to get it cleared up.

iPage is also and EIG web hosting company and all of theirs should be avoided. They tried to scam me twice in a matter of a couple weeks. Stay away unless you like beating your head against the wall. ;)

I would also recommend not using 1&1 also. As ulterios stated above, ther are a lot of bad things happening there as well. Same with iPage as it's the same things as Hostgator being owned and ran by the same company.

You can check the hosting offer here or also maybe take a look at Namecheap for good hosting.

Hostgator used to be a good web host a while back but they have had an ownership change and some changes in how they handle their support and not for the better. Their service would be probably a lot worse than JustHost.

I'd look elsewhere for hosting my friend.

Hostgator was one of the first web hosts that I used several years ago and it was pretty good at that time. I know people who have used them recently that say that they have gone to rubbish and should not be used.

It's too bad that such a good host can fall apart like they did.
