I have seen a lot of travel affiliate programs around these last few months. Are these things good to market and sell or is there maybe too many of them?

If they are over done around the net then I won't want to waste my time.

Travel affiliate program have huge opportunity to make thousands of dollar. It is not a over staurated market. However you have implement a proper strategy to promote. PPC is a good option to promote travel affiliate program.

I have a friend who makes good money with travel affiliate programs. He started a site a few years ago doing reviews on travel destinations, travel tips and guides and some other travel related topics and monetized it with travel affiliate programs and also through his mailing list that he built from that site.

I haven't talked to him real recently but unless something has changed drastically then travel affiliate programs can be good earners if you have a good site or other marketing techniques that you can utilize.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers, Dean.

You can use PPC for travel affiliate marketing? That would probably work out quite well.

I have been checking this out and it looks like Tripadvisor is what most people are saying is the best one to use.

Are you looking to start a travel blog or maybe just market through email or social media?

I have an information website I just created. I was thinking about putting a travel type widgets on it.

Priceline and Expedia are both managed by CJ. But when I tried to sign up to them, I was auto disapproved :/ I sent them an email asking to be approved. I'll give TripAdvisor a try tomorrow.

That's crazy! You would think that they would at least want to look at your site to see if it's relevant to their product/service before auto-disapproving it. Howdo they know you don't have the best site ever for marketing their product/service? :(

    Cheers, Dean.

TripAdvisor is also managed by CJ.. Not an instant disapprove, but you have to wait for their approval process to accept or reject you.

Travel widgets will probably be good on the right type of site. Travel things are among the most searched terms as I have found out recently.

Did they reply back to your email yet?

Travel affiliate revenue can be huge if you have the right website/blog/list. Some of them pay out very well and the sales are usually higher dollar sales so that is part of the big money earnings with these. ;)

I have seen some of the commissions and that's why I asked if they were good. They almost seem too good to be true.

Well because travel can get quite expensive and the sales are higher dollar sales, that's part of why the commissions are so high.

So they denied you by default automatically then after you sent them an email they accepted you? What did you say in the email?

Yeah, I just emailed them from my personal email with my account ID on CJ and told them I'll like to be an affiliate of theirs.

Nice, I am going to have to try that sometime. Usually I just wait for a while then reapply for programs with automatic disapproval. At least you got it sorted out rather easily.

    Cheers, Dean.

Well if that's all it took then why do they set things up to automatically reject people by default?
