Are gift card affiliate programs good?

I had a guy tell me that he was making a lot of money with gift card affiliate programs up till last year when he stopped marketing them due to a change in jobs.

He wouldn't give me much information so I was wondering if anyone here has tried them and if they are any good or not.

Any info will be appreciated since I don't want to waste my time if they are not worth it.

I have been meaning to look into those types of affiliate programs myself for some time but never really checked into them. The only ones that I have ever used were the Amazon gift cards through their affiliate program some time back but they didn't earn much.

I know that giftcards.com has an affiliate program since that is one that I was intending to check out but never have yet.

I'm curious if any of our members have used any of these.

The giftcards.com affiliate program showed up in the search that I did in Google. It seems ok but I still would like to know if these types of affiliate programs can make good amounts of money or not.

I don't remember seeing any affiliate programs for gift cards but they seem like they might be good since so many people use them instead of buying an actual gift for people.

Are the commissions good?

They aren't real good but I think if you could market them to the right people they would sell pretty good.

I guess it would depend on what kind of gift cards you are promoting and to whom you are promoting them to. Interesting programs though since so many people send those instead of physical gifts.

I was thinking that too. I can't even begin to tell you how many people just buy me gift cards for birthday and other occasions rather than giving me a gift of some other type.

That's one reason I was thinking these kind of programs might make nice cash.

Even if they are not good programs to promote overall they might be good around the major holiday seasons like Christmas.

Since I don't have any experience in marketing gift cards I really can not say for sure but given the fact that there are gift cards for just about every kind of products and service types I think they should be if you can find some that are appropriate for your needs.

I thought about that. even if they do not make a lot of money most of the year at least I could market them around the Christmas season.

I thought that myself. I have even received gift cards from people for things that I didn't even know that there were gift cards for. You could probably market them in any niche if you could find the appropriate products.

I agree with your thinking on that @Ben. It might just take some looking around to find the right gift card programs that are appropriate for your needs.

I think some of them might be good if you find ones that are for things that are related to the field you are marketing in.

If you are just doing random gift card programs then they might not make you a lot of money.

I have been able to find a nice amount of gift card affiliate programs in Google and I have been making a list of them and saving them for future use if needed.

Sometimes there are legit and there are also scams. If I get a real one I am happy for that time. Things are so smooth when they are legit. Gift cards are so enticing to the people and to the person like me. I am comfortable with gift cards and I am willing to claim it if I have a chance. I hope every gift card is real and legit. You can have many gift cards if you are consistent being an affiliate.

If you have something else that doesn't do a lot of money around that time then just switch them until the gift cards slow down and then go back to something else.

I saw some of these affiliate programs in the past but I was thinking why would people buy them through your affiliate links when they can just buy them from the websites for themself?

That is a very good idea. I may ask you about them sometime if that is alright.

I don't want to get involved in any gift card programs that are not legit so I would always take a look for information before signing up for any. I wouldn't want people to get mad at me if they get scammed.

Maybe they would buy them from someone because they just happened to see your advertisement and it comes to mind. Either that or they see them in an email that you send.

Sure you can. Just send me a message or something letting me know what you need.

Maybe they will but I was just wondering because I do not see any benefits for them to do it that way.
