Should we give up on Google+?

I just started using Google+ to market the blog posts on my blog and now the last couple of days I have seen some things that said that Google is going to kill Google+ and shut it down.

Is that true and should we just forget about it and concentrate on Facebook and some other social media websites?

I haven't been using the social media websites long to market my blog posts so I would not be losing much but I also don't have time to use on a lost cause.

They have been saying that Google was shutting down Google Plus completely for a long time. I doubt that they will shut it down completely.

They seem to like to be constantly making changes with the design and other features and you would usually not keep doing work on something you were going to discontinue.

I have gotten some good use from Google Plus so until they officially shut it down I will keep on using it.

I do have to admit it's not one of the top social media platforms for me but it's still useful.

If you are getting some kind of benefit from Google+ then keep using it until they do shut it down. Why not reap the benefits until then.

Besides, they often say they are going to shut something down but they don't. Google might just renovate it and change some things.

Google+ is still worth getting traffic to your blog if you focus on it.
Facebook is just one of social networks that will bring traffic to our sites hence you should combine more social networks to get maximum traffic and should not use one social network only.

Just don't give it too much attention because many people don't use it that much. I think Google will shut it down one day or merge it with another service. Until then, I'll advise you not to delete it because you may never know what will happen. Maybe they will resurrect it into something creative and amazing. Besides, you can still get some small amount of traffic through Google+.

With so many users using Facebook nowadays, Google+ should be permanently shut down. Here are my reasons why:
1. Google+ does not have a market share at all mainly because people are already signed up with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
2. Google+ does not have any promotions unlike with Facebook which allows businesses to conduct contests/promotions.
3. Google+ interface is dull.

I agree with you that you should not delete an account because sometime things don't always happen as they think it will. It is better to wait in this case.

Google does like to change things around so you might be right about them resurrecting it into something else.

Then maybe they are using it as some kind of publicity stunt so they can get buzz going about it.

There is some benefit but it is not much. I have just started my internet marketing not long ago so I do not have much benefits from it yet.

Do you mean they will merge it with another social media site or some kind of Google service?

If it doesn't require a big time investment then maybe just keep using it till and if it does completely shut down operation.

I personally find Google+ useful in signing up on some websites so I could save time in filling-up the required information. However as far as marketing is concerned, I believe there is more traffic on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr as compared to Google+. Moreover, the people on Google+ are likely to be on the aforementioned social networking and blogging sites already.

There is no certainty as to if and when Google would shut Google+ down. They might just reformat it to something more competitive if not at par with Facebook.

I personally don't know if it's true. But if I were you, I will continue to use google+ as long as it is there. I consider all reports about shutting down google+ as a hearsay not until it's been done.

Just like what everybody say, nothing is permanent in this world but change. Thus, we just have to wait for that changes. For now, use different platforms for your marketing so that if google+ will shut down, you can easily cope with that changes.

I doubt Google+ will be taken down. While it is not as popular as the usual social media sites, it still forms part of the top products of google. As far as it being an effective tool, up to an extent, yes. This is in a sense that we are talking about Google - a search engine who isn't as popular as Yahoo before. As an organization, it is absolutely capable to turn tides in the competition. It will require some faith if you stick to it. But if you want something that's working now, it is still Facebook.

I am not a google+ user but I love google as my search engine. If you still find google+ useful, then don't give it up. I believe google is smart and responsible enough, if they decide to shut down google+ there must be a smart reason.

I'm using google+ for my business purposes, I don't think they will shut it down anytime soon, they keep on improving its features and for me to keep up with the demands of its users it will be more beneficial for Google+ and for us that they should make a survey on why others get to use other SNS than them. That way others might switch, right? its just a matter of marketing, they already have a foundation why not use it to support and improved what is lacking on google+.

I haven't heard of the shutdown yet, though I would suggest migrating your web products to facebook little by little. To be honest this is my preferred social media platform for anything including business and even making notes or blogs. It just feels more universal and friendly to me plus I feel it would always have a wider catch than google+. I'm sorry, I hope my opinion helps.
