What is the best logo size?

I have a friend that is going to make me a logo and he asked me what size I want him to make it in. I really do not know if there is a size that is the best one to get.

What size would be the best size to get a logo to be made in?

I don't think there is one size that is best for everyone. I do know that you want to get one that is larger and in a vector format so that you can resize them up or down without them getting distorted.

Will the logo he is making be for your blog only or will you use it on other places like the social media websites and in your emails?

Ask him to create logo for you in PSD format so that you can resize that one according to your needs .

There is nothing like specific size of logo , it depends what sort of CMS you are using to create your website and logo placement will look perfect over there.
I have not heard about that format but I will tell him and I am sure he will know because he does this for many people he know. Thank you for the help

It will be for my blog and emails for right now. I will use it on my social profiles too so that people can be familiar with it. I might use it for other things later in the future but I am not certain of what.

I would just try to figure out what the biggest size you will ever use is and then make it that size in a format that can be resized without losing quality.

I really do not know what the biggest size that I would ever use would be. Maybe if I used a big one in my marketing emails but I still do not know what the size would be.

Then perhaps you should start real big so that you can reduce the size as you need. Maybe go with something like 2000x2000 or something in that range.

I saw some things on a google search that said that 3000x3000 or 2000x2000 would be good sizes to do so I will tell the person who is doing this for me when he gets back from his holiday.

It depends for a logo, i suggest;
  • Favicons: 16 px x 16 px, 32 px x 32 px, 48 px x 48 px
  • Website Horizontal
    • 250 px x 150 px
    • 350 px x 75 px
    • 400 px x 100 px
  • Website Square or Vertical: 160 px x 160 px

as long as it's the biggest size you would ever need then that's all that matters. Well that and the logo should be in a vector format so you can resize it without messing up the quality.
