Is commission junction good?

I have been looking at some different affiliate options and all the advertisers that I have checked out go through commission junction rather than in house. Are they any good these days? They used to be good but I know some things change.

What do you think about commission junction? Good or bad?

Commission junction is very old and one of the best and premium ad networks. They have more than 3k advertisers. The only draw back of cj is there reports. There reports are very vague and not in detailed. However they pay you in time and customer support is very good.

I never had any luck with CJ, in the way way past. When Microsoft Spaces was actually a social network, I designed a few "Widgets" for their platform that people would put on their profile. I use to stream in ads from CJ. I made a few sales - Mainly Dating Sites, but based on the millions of page views every month my gadgets were generating, it was disappointing.

I have had some good luck using commission junction myself but I will admit that there are good months and some that are less than what I would call good. This has nothing to do with cj but more to do with buying trends and the advertisers than with cj.

I have only had one issue come up with them which was eventually taken care of. I will say that their support needs to do some improving. There have been times when dealing with their support that it took several days to get a response and I have had to submit another ticket just to get a reply. Hopefully this will get better at some point.

Like anything to do with affiliate marketing it's always best to diversify your revenue streams so if something comes up at one you'll still have others that will be there.

Commission Junction is still good these days. I have had a couple of things I had to deal with through them and I will admit their support needs to get better, at least for their publishers.

Overall I would say they are a good option for a site owner to use and since they have a huge assortment of advertisers that always makes finding the right one to use on your site/s easy.

Commission junction must be good because they have many top companies using it for their affiliate programs. I was looking at their advertiser lists and pretty much all the top companies are there. If it wasn't any good then those companies would either do it themselves or go with somewhere else.

There's not many companies that act on a Paid Per Sale bases..

Let's break this down a bit.

CJ doesn't force a company to change payment processors, theirs no real accountability that you will get all your sales you earn as an affiliate.

Clickbank - Forces you to use their payment page.
JVZoo - Forces you.
ShareaSale - Forces you.

I never used linkshare - So I don't know.

So most companies will gravitate towards CJ in that regards, but CJ also charges the advertiser like 10k to get set up.

It's a risk with some advertisers and not getting paid and CJ holds your money you earned for a while, where the others don't.

Wait! They charge the advertisers just to get set up? That's just insane. They are going to be making money off of the affiliate sales already so why in the world do they need to charge an advertiser just to get started and go into business with them?

With Clickbank, they charge something like $60 for a vendor to get approved.

How do they get advertisers to want to spend so much money just to use them? CJ should be paying them for bringing their business to them so that they will have something to market.

If you're a med/big company, 10k is nothing. Big companies have products that sell or else they wouldn't be big, so I guess CJ attracts real affiliates which makes it worthwhile I guess.

I can't even believe that they can charge that much and the merchants actually pay it. Don't you think that maybe the bigger merchants can negotiate the fees down or have them eliminated since they would be selling more products?

I'm sure they can, I also think CJ doesn't want to waste time with little vendors, so that's one method of weeding them out.

That's still quite a sum of money and that will cut out a lot of smaller sellers from using them. Don't you think the wise choice would be to have lower fees for the merchant to get started so that they get more items that affiliate can promote?

Commission junction is suppose to be one of the best places for affiliate to sign up and to use. I see many of the top bloggers recommend them so they should be real good for anyone.

They have been around for a long time and there are lots and lots of website owners that are using them so they must be good. I like that they have so many advertisers to choose from so you do not have to go to each individual advertiser type to become an affiliate.
