Has Google Adsense worked for you?

Lately I have been going over my records and trying to get more organized. In doing so Ifound out how much I made each month that I have used Adsense.

There has been a big fluctuation in Adsense earnings amounts the last couple years. I have earned between $125 for a month and $1,200. So as you can see it fluctuates and is not consistent.

I have though about removing Adsense from the sites I have it on and replacing it with something else but then right when I am thinking about it I get a big month. I don't know how tomeasure success with Adsense when it fluctuates so much. It has worked ok for me I guess.

If you use or have used Adsense, how has Adsense worked for you?

Cheers, Dean.

Hi Dean, Adsense earning actually depends on the traffic of your site and also about the quality of your traffic. I am also using Adsense for my income source and my earning also fluctuates month to month. The major issue of this fluctuation is returning visitor. If you have a good amount of returning visitors than your adsense earnings might be low. So, always try to drive new traffic to your site. You can check how much returning and new visitors coming to your site using analytics. Also link your adsense account to analytics to get detailed traffic reports, which will help you learn from which source you are getting high revenue. Hope it will help you.

My AdSense earnings does fluctuate but usually only by about $50 or so per month so it's pretty consistent for me. There are times that I do get big spikes in earnings but that is usually when I do some extra promotion work or there is something else that triggers a lot of new visitors.

Speaking of new visitors, @vishwa has mad a great point in that you always want to try to get new visitors to your AdSense websites or blogs. That usually will help your earnings grow and earn better. Lots of return visitors won't even bother looking at or clicking on AdSense advertisements after they have been to your site before.

New visitors are very important in growing your AdSense earnings! ;)

I used Google Adsense many years ago on a small website that I had that was in the personal computer tech niche and it never made much. Affiliate advertising pays much better then Adsense ever paid.

I do not have google adsense but some of my blogging friends have told me that some people can make real good incomes from google adsense on their blogs. I want to be able to have adsense on a blog of my own some day. I was told that I need to have many posts to be approved by google. I need to start getting things going faster so that I can reach this goal soon.

That's the case for most people. Too many people think they are going to get rich by using Google Adsense on their site but that is rarely the case. You usually need a lot of traffic to make real good money with adsense.

Some people do make real good money with Google Adsense but many people use other methods of monetizing their site to make better money.

as for the amount of posts, you want to not only make sure that you have enough of them but that they are quality posts and are not too short. Google really likes quality when they are looking at a site for Adsense approval.

When I used it years ago I got less traffic to my website than I get today but I still made decent money considering the fact that I didn't do much promoting of my website.

Over the years Google Adsense has paid less than it used to years ago. That's a big reason why many people are finding other more lucrative ways to monetize their website.

I was reading some blog posts about adsense and they said that you can still make lots of money with adsense but your website has to get a lot of traffic. I might put it on my current site one of these days just to see how it does.

Yeah getting a lot of traffic to your site that has Adsense on it helps but it is also good for earnings to get a lot of new and unique visitors as well.

Many times people that are regulars will get ad blindness and just ignore the Ads so you won't get any clicks. Getting a regular flow of new visitors to your site helps your earnings.
