How many Twitter accounts can you have?

Hi fellow internet marketer's! I have a couple of questions for you.

How many Twitter accounts is one person allowed to have?

What do they do if they find out you have too many?

I am asking because I want to have separate Twitter accounts for different niche's so the followers I will be trying to get will be targeted to what I am trying to market. I just don't know how many they let one person have. I looked on Twitter's site and I can't find a definite answer.

I'd really appreciate any help or info you can share with me. :Beg:

Hey Storm, I am not exactly sure of the maximum number of twitter accounts that you can have but I thought I saw a number of 200 somewhere a few months back. I am not sure though so use caution if creating a lot.

Personally I have more than a dozen and I have dealt with their support and they know of these and have said it was fine. I was told that they don't want you to create more accounts to get around rules like posting limits and things like that.

I would say that unless you go crazy and create hundreds then you will probably be ok as long as you are following all of their rules.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Dean.

I was looking for this answer a few days ago and did not find anything definitive. I think as long as you do not go making a large amount of them and abusing them you will be fine.

I saw a post somewhere a while back that said twitter doesn't have a limit but I don't know if that is what they say officially. I do know that some people have several of them so they might not have a limit.

As far I have heard, you can as many twitter accounts you want as long as you use a valid unique email address with each one.

I'm not sure of the number but I know it's not a low number. I saw their rules some time back when I was wondering the same thing because of how many I have and I wasn't even close. As long as you are not violating their rules then you should be fine unless you get real crazy with the number of accounts that you have.

That is basically what I do and you'll be fine like this. I have over 20 myself and manage them all from my home and the exact same IP address and have done it this way for years.

Does it matter if they all have the same ip address? I have the one from work, then one from home and my cell if I need to use more than one.

You can easily run 5 accounts from 1 IP but if you want to run N numbers of accounts you need proxies to run those maybe a BOT can help in that like massplanner.
Where do you get massplanner? I haven't heard of that or what it does.

I was not going to have a lot but I just want one for each niche site I have. not more than an hand for or so I guess.

I think that you can have several of them but you must not use them for spam purpose or they will ban you. One person at my university has 5 Twitter accounts and has had them over a year with no problems. The rules also do not say you can have only one account like other social websites like Facebook.

As I said above, I have over 20 that I have and run from my home IP and have even dealt with Twitter support and have never had any issues. A couple weeks ago I ran across someone on another website that has over 100 all from his home IP address.

I think that Twitters main concern is more about what you are using multiple accounts for and if you have a good reason and aren't breaking any rules or spamming then they really don't care.

Plus that helps them inflate their number of users so they can get closer to Facebook's inflated number of users! ;)

I looked at their rules again to make sure and did not see any number for number of accounts you can have and it did not say one account anywhere too. They are a little confusing though for some of them but I understood most.

I don't know what's allowed but I do know that you can have at least several. I know people that have more than 10 accounts with no problems. I think you should only make as many as you need and not over do it though.

I do not really know what the limit is but I know that some people have several Twitter accounts. I myself have a personal twitter account and one that I am using for my blogging and marketing that I am gearing up for.

Simple , if you want have many account twitter , you need to many account gmail.
It doesn't have to be a Gmail account that you need for Twitter accounts. As long as each account has a unique email address then there should be no problems creating additional accounts. Yahoo, Outlook, your own branded domain email or any email account will work as long as it's not used on another Twitter account.
