Pay Per Click Advertisements (PPC) show up above and to the side of organic search results. They are placed on top of search engine results depending on how much a company has paid to place them there. They pay search engines every time someone clicks on their link.

Search Engine Optimization defines a process that gets web pages ranked hieratically on search engines depending on links from other websites, quality of content on the pages and other factors that cost not money but time.

I would go with SEO for a long term because it is low cost but get the results better than PPC. If you want to apply PPC for your site, high budget is required.

PPC: Pay per click
Google Adwords, Bing Ads etc
In PPC one needs to create a campaign and spent some money for start getting ROI, if you are new then please don't go for PPC yourself else it will lead you to bankruptcy, PPC can do wonders both ways in making you if you are an expert and bury you if you try stunts with it.

SEO is a slow process which will give results after a certain period of time, if seo is not done the right way then any site can get penalized, for seo only white-hat work is recommended.

PPP (Pay Per Click) is basically just a fancy term for paid advertising or traffic. PPC can help you help traffic to your website, offer or whatever fast.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is basically just making your website friendlier for search engines to crawl and index your site properly (or for what you want to rank for) and to help it do better in the search engine results pages (SERP's).

PPC and SEO are two different things altogether. While PPC requires one to spend money, SEO is more of organic traffic to influence one's site on search engines. For running PPC campaigns the advertiser does not check the site history, instead money is all that matters to them. The more money you spend the more you can sustain and keep running the campaign.
