Exactly, I would go with this suggestion and a big note make your keywords in your article naturally with readers, not only for search engines.

Go to Google and search for "Miserable Failure" you'll see an about.com page within the top 10 results. Click on it and you'll see that there's no text on the page, the keyword "Miserable Failure" is only found in the title and meta tags only and not on the post/page.
So this proves that keyword density is just a myth, don't obsess about it. Simply have your keyword in the title, meta description, tags and within the article as well. How many time, it doesn't matter, just don't spam.

I strongly suggest that you read up on G's Hummingbird algo as it is important to know how G crawls and understands your site...
The point here is that you should forget about keyword density and instead focus on semantically related content and keywords as well as synonyms... Use internal links with building out a silo to promote given pages/posts for a specific keyword...
On the actual article itself aim to write an awesome article on the given subject and do not bother with counting keywords - noting your bounce rates are hugely important on the SERPs...
