Ways to Monitor my Website's Uptime and Downtime?

Hi there, are there any ways to monitor my website's uptime and downtime? Do I need to use a tool or plugin on my site?

There are many different services out there. Pingdom is probably the most popular!

I personally use SiteuUptime for my clients to find out sites stat.

We utilize Nagios to monitor all of our servers, but it is an enterprise solution that is not necessary for most. Another option would be Uptime Robot (http://www.uptimerobot.com) this is the solution we recommend to our customers for their own monitoring.
