Linkedin is better for promoting to business professionals and Pinterest is better for things that images work good for like cooking, clothing, travel and things like that.

What kind of business is this for? That can matter for which one of these you should use.

Like Keral said, it depends on the type of business you have.

Pinterest has a great target audience if you are in the fashion, food, beauty, or DIY fields. If your content gets enough views and pins, it'll promote your business without having to use ads. Any other type of business you're thinking of would probably be more suited to Linkedin due to the different nature of the audience.

I think, when it comes down to doing business, you should go with Linkedin.
It is pretty simple website that lets you have your profile and share experience you got in the field you are doing. It is used as a website that promotes you and helps other people who can potentially hire you.
It works as a CV, sort of.
If you are doing business as a photographer, then I would have to say that you should go with pinterest since it is a photo sharing website.
Let us know what do you think.Did you do any further research ?

For me, these two are entirely different social media platforms. LinkedIn specializes in promoting an individual's career, or an entire business portfolio which results in secondly, advertising products of that company. Now, Pinterest is more of like Instagram, wherein it features products, services or personal articles to gain traffic that links to their blogs.

These two could be useful for your business but it really depends on what type of thing you do. If, for example, you are a business owner of a store that sells equipment related to engineering or other specialty product that not all common people need, then I suggest you use linkedIn since you'll be able to narrow down your target market on advertising your products there. But, if you are a seller of a product that is suited for everyday use, then you can do more with using Pinterest.

Pinterest will be the best one to use if you are going to be posting nice pictures or images of some kind. It works really well for traffic for your website if you have things that catch the attention of the people.

LinkedIn would be more for professional types of marketing.

I have tried pinterest and it does ok for me. Linkedin is more for serious businesses and business to business. The best one depends on what you want to promote.

Are you wanting to promote a product or a service?
