Is this 301 redirect will work?

I'm changing directory name on my domain name which containing my blog in it hence all urls changed to new ones. Should I use 301 redirect and does this way work and it can maintain my keyword rankings for blog posts on search engines?

Yes, you should use 301 Permanent redirects.

If you just change the directory without using redirects, search engines, and users will receive 404 (file not found) errors when following links. Users may get frustrated. Search Engines will un-index the page. They will re-index the new page once they find it, but it probably wont carry the same "juice" it had before.

I know writing a bunch of redirects can be a pain, but it is worth the effort, just to be sure.
