SEO has had some interesting developments in the year 2014.
What do you think will be the important SEO trends for the year 2015?

This is a very old thread to reply, but since there are no recommendations made I will initiate the topic again. I would say that 2014 has seen the Google updates and quality factors associated with websites using high quality content. These were much functional using the Google Panda and Penguin updates. Search engines are more concentrated to build quality to their database and rank websites which are higher in quality, both for content and backlinks.

2015 will also see the same trend. We are through the half year mark and still we are eagerly waiting for the next Google update to improve our website ranking and seo. After all Google updates help to know more about the latest trends and updates that we need to implement in our website to rank higher in their search results.

Google is now better able to reward high-quality Web content that is relevant to a search query, and less dependent on traditional signals, such as keywords, according toa recent report from Search metrics.

The report was based on an analysis of the the top 30 search results for 10,000 relevant keywords and 300,000 websites appearing on Google.com in 2015. The aim of the study, which has been carried out every year since 2012, was to identify the key factors that high-ranking Web pages have in common.
