Are you going to pick a domain name for your online business? choosing a good domain name is one of the most important parts of starting a website. But are you over thinking it? Do you really need an expired domain with PR, DA, PA and Moz rank?

Yeah..! You said right..!

Choosing of domain is really important for starting a website for online business. The domain help to brand your business and get on listing of the search engine.

It's important to buy an domain with high PR and DA, but I don't think that you could brand well your business. Or sometimes, the name not explain well your vision of business.

The good name is really token.

So, what...?

I think that whatever you are choosing expire domain or new domain, you'll make your business better by the ways you go with it...

Example..., I started my new blog for freelance writing service. I just did publish my single post, but I got over 1000 pageviews of my new blog.

It isn't an high authority domain or PR, but I did well with my business. DA and PA is one few facts that search engine rank your website, but you'll learn more facts about ranking..

I'm trying that it isn't impossible to rank new blog or get high traffic to it.

If you are wanting to have a site that is memorable and not tied to whatever site was on the domain before then a new domain name would be better.

If you just want to build a cheap site that has some potentially good backlinks and some authority in a previous niche than an older one will be fine.

It all comes down to what you are going to do with it and the kind of site that you want.

When choosing a domain name, you should think how you will use the domain name. So if you want to build a authority of you, you should pick a domain name of your own name because it will definitely build a authority of yours. if you want to sell a specific product, then your domain name should be related to your product. For example, if you were teaching people how to live a laptop lifestyle then you your domain name might be laptoplifestyle.com. So the point is that you should pick a domain name according to how you will use that domain. Also if later on, if you decide to change your domain name, you can do that easily by just selling your old domain and buying a new one and this can be done without any budget because domain names aren't expensive and can be bought any time as long as they are available and nobody else is using that domain. I know this because I have bought two domain names for $1 each. So don't overthink about domain names because you can get a new one any time you want. Good Luck!

When picking/choosing/buying a domain name for your site you will definitely want to put some thought into it and what it says/means. Too many people rush into choosing the domain name for their website without doing enough thought and thinking about the good and bad of any particular domain and especially the extension that is used.

This is a very big decision and one that is usually not given enough thought. I recommend that before anybody or business buys a domain name, they think about the name first as it can contribute greatly to the success of a website!

I have been trying to think of a new domain name myself but everything I think of is taken. When I do get one I do not want an expired domain because I want it to be unique and original and has never been used before by anyone else.

Are you looking at .com domains only? You might want to check some of the other domain extensions and especially the newer ones since there are still a lot of good names left.

If you are looking in the usual domain extensions then that might be hard to find. If you do find a name you like that has never been used you might want to do some research to see if it hasn't been used before. You can check sites like archive.org or maybe screenshots.com because they have a lot of historical saved web pages from an incredible amount of sites.

This is something that I have actually been trying to figure out myself. I am looking to start a new website for my online marketing and promotions and have been trying to figure out what I might have to get a little more creative but that's fine with me since I like having a unique name for a website so it's not confused with another site.

My recommendation..

1) EMD - (Exact Match Domain) - If that's available take it. It is a ranking factor regardless of what Matt Cutts video you seen. I know, I have some and they rank with just a few backlinks.

2) If you can buy a domain, that relates to your niche that has a backlink profile in place - It's worth the money.

3) I did it the hard way, making my own brand. But it's a lot of hard work and I would of loved to have a head start, but I didn't know any better at the time. My focus wasn't internet marketing, SEO, etc at the time. I was a developer just putting together a useful site to help people email properly, I didn't have $$ intent. Until the cost of supporting the site started to become an issue.

4) A domain with a good backlink profile - won't be found on expired domains, you'll have to buy them at auction.

5) Expect to pay about 100 per 30-50 unique backlink domains at auction (depending on quality). If it's Keyword domain, toss a few hundred more onto it. Yes, it's worth it - If you're serious and you have the right attitude.

6) If you buy the expired domain and if the original owner did the back-linking, you might be able to go back and easily modify some of the old back-link anchors, to better suit your niche. By recovering the password (If they used email under the domain name)

Was this for the site in your signature? I ask because I really like the domain name for the site in your signature and it seems very memorable and catchy. I always liked names that catch my attention and have what it takes to stick in your mind.

Yes, I created the one in my signature. At first it was going to be called "Unblock The Inbox", then I couldn't think of a logo design that would fit that name so I changed it to "Unlock The Inbox".

I have a TF -31 and CF - 49 on it. I never paid attention to SEO, until Early 2016. I wish I knew, what I know now, back in 2010.

They are both good but I think that you made the right choice IMO. I really like "Unlock The Inbox" and the logo is so perfect for it. Both the name and logo have that unique sound and perfect look, like they are very influential and have the characteristics to stick around for a very long time.

Did you do a lot of research or was it something that just kind of popped into your head? I have had both myself when looking for a domain name.

Cheers, Dean.

No research, I just remembered the domain choices I had in mind were already taken. If I did research, it probably would of been an exact match domain of sorts.

Well you came up with a real good one.

Since this wasn't your first choice and it's a real good one, it has me wondering what they others might have been. :D

Cheers, Dean.

Yes you are quite right on this, I took some days to think about domain, even a month or longer but I could not choose a domain as expected because it is taken. But sometimes I can get luck when thought a good domain and it is still available on domain registrars as Godaddy or Namecheap.

Yes my friend, you have gotten pretty lucky and have many great domains. You should maybe look into buying and seeling some domains since you seem to get some good ones! ;)

Most of the time I like domains that are related to what your website is going to be about. I don't mean to use a keyword or something but just a name that sounds like it belongs with the website that will be or is on it. There are some out there that just don't fit what's on them and I personally don't like that.

I like domain names that go with what the website is about. I also like original domain names that are only associated to your website.

I am also not a fan of some of those crazy spellings of some that are some kind of play on letters or words. These are the type that use a "3" in place of an "e" for some kind of backward spelling. Or that use a "5" instead of an "s". I know that most of the time they do it because the proper spelling is taken but it's still crazy.

I like to do this just about every time I register a new domain. ;)

I don't care for them myself. They don't realize that by using some odd spelling in a domain name they are loosing traffic to the correct spelling of that domain. That's why I like unique domain names. Unique but not something that people will spell wrong. ;)

I don't know much about domains but I have always liked domains that are original or that sound approprite for what that certain website is about.
