I would recommend you illustrator if you want to have quality logos because it is better than photoshop in creating vector graphics.

If you want to design normal graphics without requiring about vector graphic then photoshop is better and a good choice.

Definitely Illustrator. Illustrator is vector base which means you can resize your banners without any distortion. Photoshop is pixel based which means you won't be able to size up without distortion and there is a limit to how much you can size down without distortion too. Illustrator is best for logos too.

Photoshop works best with photos and images that are already created.

Depending on your needs, you can use both which I often do. I like to do my typography in Illustrator then bring it into Photoshop on what ever project I am working on. Illustrator is best for typography too. Plus make a graphic and bring it into Photoshop to add to a photo. Stuff like that.

If you use electronic media you can design Photoshop or you use print media, illustrator is best.

For Print design illustrator is best and if you work on electronics media Photoshop is best. Illustrator is vector graphics and Photoshop is vector graphics.
NO, Photoshop can't generate vector images.

It really depends upon the type of art you are going to include in your banner.

The current trend is material design (flat). This would demand Illustrator since this style adopts vector shapes as a means of development. Photoshop does feature vector functions but they are very primitive and it's not at all as advanced as Illustrator.

If your banner is photo rich, Photoshop would be the best choice since raster functions in Illustrator are limited.

In a nutshell; it depends upon the art.

I agree with you about this

as I know, Photoshop has not quite supported vector image so design important things such as logo, brochure then it's not a good choice.

I think photoshop is good for designing website's elements like banners, images.

I use PhotoShop for making the banners for my websites most of the time. I started out with PhotoShop first and learned how to do stuff on there so I can create my banners quicker on it.

I haven't done much with Illustrator so my experience in using it is not that much which is why PhotoShop is my go-to banner making software.

One of these days I need to learn more about Illustrator and it's functions as well as it's capabilities because I have seen some amazing things created using it.

If only there were a few more hours in each day! ;)

Choosing the best one will depend on exactly what type of banner you are wanting to make and the features that you want it to have incorporated into it.

Both will do the job in most cases so I would just use whichever you are most comfortable and skilled at using and whichever one you have access to.

Cheers, Dean.

I have never used illustrator but I used to use photoshop to make them a few years ago and it did a pretty good job considering I am a newbie at photoshop. Illustrator might be better but I have never used it so I do not know.
