Hey @Catherine1 Yes , they are good for making Passive Income if you are doing everything according to Amazon TOS .

You can use wordpress + woocommerce option for that , get on-page seo properly done for your Amazon store , create social media account ( facebook , pinterest , instagram ) will be good .

Before starting get some keyword research done so that you can get which niche is trending and on which products you have to focus.

Look for the products having good reviews .

Plugins which you can use for getting products over your website
Amazon product in post plugin.
Amazon Links
Amazon Auto Links
Amazon Product Feeder
The Ultimate Solution for Amazon Affiliates
WP Robot 5

You can also try Amazon Review Website they are also good for earning passive income .

These websites took some time to rank and get you cash out of from them.

I tried to do an amazon store but I could never make any good amount of money from it and only had a couple of ok months so I gave it up.

It might have been that I just didn't know as much about what I was doing though but I will say that I think other affiliate earning methods are easier.

Never gave up on anything you started , Check whats going wrong . Test your skills , update regularly , share your website and products links over social media , start some offers , use clickbait titles also you can use Shopify + Facebook Ads to earn good revenue.

Thank you for sharing all this info. I am just too new to things like this and have been reading a little on them but I haven't got any good details like this. :D

What's the difference between and Amazon affiliate store and an Amazon review website? Can these be just one website or should they be separate?

Hello @Catherine1 ,

Amazon Affiliate Stores - These are the online shopping portals where you place products from Amazon over your website with your Affiliate Tag.

Amazon Review Site - These are those websites where you do keyword research first ,
1. Which Keyword is having good Search.
2. High CPC
3. Good Number of reviews over Amazon
4. Price range of products.

Then either you write a detailed review for them or you ask any content writer for them.

Better they are separate .

I see a lot of affiliate doing a lot of big numbers with their Amazon stores but I am worried about the commission structure and the 1 day cookie duration. The only way I see this working is by finding a niche that is sold for a big amount and you get a good commission for it. Lately, it has become hard to find such niches for Amazon stores.

I tried to stick with it but it did not seem like it was ever going to make money.

I have never used Shopify but heard a little about it. Is it easy to use and setup?

The affiliate cookie for Amazon affiliate stores is for only 1 day?

Most of the other things I have seen are 7 days, 30 days or something like that.

Ok, thanks. I guess the review sites are just a little more work but probably worth it in the longer run.

I did some reading on Amazon affiliate stores maybe 1 to 1 1/2 months ago but could not get enough information on if these are a good idea or not. I see them all the time so they are either real good or just over done.

I am trying to figure that out myself. I see them everywhere but that might be a sign that there are too many and too much competition.

I think Sam Hunt makes a good point about doing your research first. That might be the key to doing good with an Amazon affiliate store. Knowledge will help you decide.

@Catherine1 Unless and until you will not do any Keyword Research for you will not get exact answer for the question .

Look for the keywords which you can rank easier and having high value product range over Amazon.
I will do that. Thanks

That seems to be the way to go. Thanks

Yup the cookie duration for Amazon affiliate is 1 day only. I know other eCommerce affiliate program have a long cookie duration but it all comes down to split testing of campaigns. You can join multiple affiliate programs and have their affiliate links placed on your site.

Thanks for that bit of information. That is just so low compared to others I have seen but I guess because they are Amazon they can do that.

Amazon affiliate stores can be good earners if you can get good quality traffic to them and promote them well enough to get new customers coming back.

The competition for these is quite high for many reasons so sometimes you might have to put a good effort into it in order for it to rank well in the search engine websites and for them to make you good money.

Amazon has decided to discontinue the astore for its affiliates. According to a writer for Amazon, other apps like Shopify and E-commerce have taken away literally millions of dollars from Amazon. Since it really has no innovation department and so they are losing revenue to newer apps with compelling features. Amazons profits for astores were negligible, however, maybe Amazon just doesn't want to compete. Existing website business will allow Amazon to relocate to one of its more profitable systems. I'm sad because I really liked to build those astores.

As an affiliate marketer, this is one of the main questions that I want an answer. I have amazon affiliate store. After a through research, I chose a niche. I built an affiliate store. I even developed contents around the niche and published on the website. I am getting traffic, social media traffic as well as search engine traffic, however, my traffic is not converting into sales. I don't know what people do when they want to buy from Amazon, do they buy from affiliate store or directly visit Amazon site.
