Is curated content good or bad?

I was just reading more on this matter and it appears that it is more easily accepted in these days now. I was reading that there are methods that many websites use to curate their content and then credit the sources and that is considered fine.
That's fine for me. As long as someone is giving credit for the content and not just copying and pasting content as their own then I am fine with that.

The thing is that many site owners don't do that. They just basically steal your content and try to pass it off as their own.

I am the same way my friend. I would at minimum like to receive the credit for the information. I personally always like to only use my own things on my website.

I really do not like the fact that people can just take what you created and put it on their own site. I heard that you can contact Google and get some things removed but I don't know how to do it.

Yes you can contact Google to try to have things removed but it is only from their searches. The materials will still be on the other websites but you will not see it in Google is all. I also heard that if you try to get it removed that does not always mean that they will do it.

I didn't know exactly what they did but that makes sense. They can't control what's on a website but just remove the way to get to it from their searches.

Removing it from the search results will only partially remedy the problem by limiting the number of people who can find the content. There may be a way to contact a web hosting company that is the host for the website in question and do something that way but I am not certain of this.

I read something somewhere that mentioned something about a DMCA but I really don't know about that.

I like the fact that one does not need to create a fresh piece of content for curating content. You can use content from authoritative sites like Huffington post and use a piece of that content and then modify that content according to ones needs to post it on social and other similar platforms. It is something that will only help gain traffic to your site and there are no side effects :)

If you use content from the authority websites on your own website then that is ok with the search sites like Google?

DMCA provide takedown service , If anyone steal content from your website / blog ( Text , Video , Image ) you can make a complaint to DMCA and they take care of the other party.

Add DMCA Badge over your website footer and you are good to go with your original content.

Go to their website > create your account > get free badge script > add in your website footer :Ertery:

I never said that, but you could always take inspiration from authority sites. Always remember success leaves clues :)
What I basically meant is that you could use their content and re-write it in your own words and share it on social sites, create videos based around that content or even create power point videos related to the same.

Note: Do not copy their content just as it is and use it on your site. Big G will ban your site!

If they use a small portion of my content then it is ok I think but if they copy the whole page then I do not like that. I work hard for my posts so if someone steals it then that is not fair to me who did the work.

I understand you now my friend, thank you. I like your video idea. That may be something to try out.

I have seen that many websites take stories from the associated press and they are almost copy and paste articles so I think that can hurt their rankings because google is supposed to not like copied content.

That is how I feel also. I work hard to make good and unique posts and I do not like someone copying my posts and using on their own site.

In these days it seems like too many people just want to be lazy and not do their own work so they steal from others. It is too bad for our society.

I wouldn't have a problem if someone used a small part of my content but not the whole page or post. That's just outright stealing.

If they took some part of it and used that and gave credit to me for it then I would be fine with them doing that.

Yes my friend but these days there are always people that want to let someone else do their work for them. It is the way of things now.

I don't like people copying my stuff word for word but if they at least make an effort to change it then I can live with that.

What are we supposed to do about it anyway? It happens everyday to all kinds of sites and there is no real way to prevent it so we have to just deal with it however we can.

You are very right my friend. There is not much that we are able to do to stop it. The way of things these times nowadays.

I have actually heard of people ranking higher with content they copied from the original source of another website. Can you imagine someone ranking higher for your content then you?

I know that it happens very often and I know I would not be happy with someone outranking me with my own content.
