Best social media websites for European audience

I am getting back in to doing affiliate marketing after some years away from it and want to know what are the best social media websites to use to target European audiences. Social media was not as big when I was doing affiliate marketing before so this is new for me.

I will appreciate any leads on what to try for this market.

Thank you

I really don't know if there's any kind of specific social media websites that work better for the European market so maybe we can get some of our members that are in that market to ring in but I think that the main thing is not particularly the GEO location but what the niche you are targeting is.

Depending on the type of things you are marketing I think will have a bigger impact than where the people live that you are targeting.

Again, maybe some members in that market can help with more information on that.

Based on what I have heard Facebook is the most popular for the market in Europe. I am in France but most of my traffic comes from all over Europe and Facebook is the one that sends the most people to my blog.

Facebook is the top social media site in the world so they would probably be the best choice for Europe as well. I don't know personally because I don't live there but that seems like the top pick.

Nice thought, and thanks for share it.
Social networks are now so well recognized, that there are now a core 'top 5' social networks which doesn't variation much from year-to-year. But, as we'll see in this post, the most popular social media sites vary a lot by level of usage in changed republics and demographics.

I think that most people are using Facebook more than the other social websites except for a few countries maybe. I would use that one as a first choice to start with.

This is what I was thinking myself but I am not really any social media guru so it is not my area of knowledge. Thank you for the reply.

I think Facebook and Linkedin work best for Europe.
I spent 5 years in Europe and Twitter is not exactly their favourite social media channel of choice.
Thank you much. This is the kind of things I need to know. I need to learn many things about social media since I have had only a little time using those websites.

Does it matter if the marketing on Facebook and Linkedin is paid or free methods? I know sometimes the free methods work fine and other they are a waste of time.

Oh I am not a social media guru myself. I just read a lot of things and ask questions to help me learn more.

One should use different social media websites and find the one that is most suitable for them which gives results. Just by the no: of visitors Facebook is got to be on top of the list. Rest like Twitter, Google+ etc. can be numbered according to the preference.

I thought social sites are meant to deliver worldwide traffic but vk.com is the only network that comes to mind when it comes to a social traffic for European audience. You should stick with the major ones like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram...btw you can also add Linkedin in the mix.
I have not heard about vk.com, thank you for the tip. I will have to check on this one.

All of this social media stuff is new to me. When I had websites years ago I did nothing on them so I am having to learn it all. I did read that Google+ helps with the SEO of your site but I have not checked into more detail about this.

I think Google Plus, Twitter, Facebook are websites for European audience
Thank you for your answer. :)

I started using Facebook mostly and a little on Twitter. I have not used Google Plus really because I really do not understand the interaction between members yet.

I need to learn many things about social media websites still.

I was talking to a friend in Europe a couple of days ago and he said that vk.com is his best social media network followed by Facebook.

I don't know if that would apply for all niches and markets because I have never used vk.com but it might be worth a closer look into.

I am going to look at vk.com since that one seems to be discussed often for European and even Asian markets when I was checking. Thank you.

I am in the UK and I use Facebook mostly for my social media needs and it is the best option for most people I think. I hear everyone talking about it wherever I go so I think it has the majority of people using it in Europe.

I think that you are correct. I have even heard many people talk of Facebook here in Spain. Facebook will be one that is a primary social site I use.

Last year I wasn't hearing it so much but this year it seems like everyone is talking about Facebook more. It's either that or I am just noticing it more.
