domains

I want to start another blog for a different niche and all of the good domains in the .com are already taken. What would you recommend if this is the case?

I have a blog and I am using a .com domain and I just noticed there is a .blog domain. Are these good to use for our blogs? I like how these can let people know that the link is for a blog so I was thinking about changing to 1 of these if it is a good idea.
