There's really no rule of thumb for ad frequency, but it's important to track UX metrics when implementing ads. At Ezoic we have worked with thousands of sites, and we have found that the most important thing is to make sure User Experience (Bounce Rate, Time on Site, Page views) are not impacted by the ads. You will just need to test out which combination of ads works best on your site without spamming out your users.
