What is effective content marketing for video testimonials, is it better than written?

Yes, we are visual beings hence video testimonials work better that written one, after all a written one can easily be faked and VT makes it more intimate since people interact through video.

It's always good to have both if possible (just not from the same person), it boosts the credibility making it look real.

Yes, I mean not having one testimony in two formats, which in this case is video and written. I've seen some people doing this and it won't do anything good, the second testimony becomes irrelevant, after all, that's what the first one was for right?
