I have been selling things on ebay to make some extra money and was thinking about maybe making an ecommerce store. I was thinking about using software that has the main purpose for ecommerce and think Magento might be good but I do not know about it. Is Magento good for an ecommerce store or it it better to use Wordpress?

I have heard that Magento is good for an ecommerce website from reading about ecommerce and that it is one of the better software programs to use for ecommerce websites but that's just what I have read. I don't know first hand but I think that it will be good based on what I have read.

I haven't ever used Magento but from what I have seen by doing some investigating into Magento not too long ago I found that it is known to have a steep learning curve. Meaning that it will take some time to learn how to do everything if you are not familiar with it and how to do things with it.

You might want to look at some other eCommerce solutions like perhaps WordPress and WooCommerce.

Magento is supposed to be good for ecommerce stores from what I have seen and been told. I have never used it before so I don't know how easy it is to setup and get going.

I have seen quite a few Megento developers around the web so you might be able to find someone that can set it up for you at a good price if you have trouble doing it yourself or don't want to give it a try.

Surely!! Magento is the best for your eCommerce stores. Whether it is Startup or an established Business, Magento serves excellent features to its developers. It is a feature-rich platform that gives complete flexibility to the merchants along with great functionality for their online channel.

I was thinking about maybe starting an ecommerce store for clothing and accessories. Are Magento stores hard to maintain and keep going well?

    Hi Jenny,

It's a nice idea to start to an eCommerce store for clothing and accessories. Magento stores are very easy to manage and it will go very well.

    Thanks

Do Magento stores work well for selling digital products like ebooks and other digital items that are downloaded after purchase?

Yes, Magento is is the world’s most-versatile and high-performance E-commerce platform. Magento is developed as a dedicated platform for ecommerce website, so that it has more wonderful features for your web-stores

Is Magento good if you want to use it for a store that has only free download item like ebooks and things like that or does it only work for things that cost money?

Magento was made keeping eCommerce stores in mind. It's only use if for eCommerce purpose only. It is good if you know what you are looking to achieve with it, but I would personally suggest you to go with Shopify.

Magento is an over architected platform as its architect is extremely powerful that it can suffice the needs of every website owner.

    Shopify is better than Magento?

Why is it more powerful? Does it have better features or something else to make it better than others?

What does over architected mean? Sorry but this term is new to me.

Shopify without a doubt is the best out there. I been using them since like 2 years now, so telling you from my experience.
