There is no magic formula or number here...

There are two main factors which ranks a page for a specific keyword which being on-page SEO and off-page SEO....

For on page with regards to keyword density I would first of all make best efforts to write a great compelling. informative article as that will help minimize bounce rates on the serps as that too is important... I personally would include the main keyword once - ideally within the title and url and use variations of that keyword as related terms throughout the article....

Further I would link related articles with internal link building which uses the primary keyword as anchor text which leads to the page which you are attempting to rank... i.e. set up silos on your site which funnels link juice to pages which you are aiming to get ranked for competitive terms...

Finally with off-page SEO it is useful to have some backlinks to that page which has the keyword and related LSI/semantic terms - as that tells G that the page being referenced is a great topic related to that keyword...

Hope that helps! Best of luck, Sid

While writing an article focus on writing that is readable, comprehensible and it adds value to the readers. When this is done, there will be keywords that come naturally in the article. If one tries to insert the keywords in the article, then it may appear as spam, and the keyword density may become high which can trigger the search engine algorithms and consider the content of the article as spam.

Therefore:

Keyword Density = (Nkr / Tkn) x 100

Where:

Density = your keyword density
Nkr = how many times you repeated a specific keyword
Tkn = total words in the analyzed text

So, if your article or piece of content (the text you are analyzing) is 500 words in length and you have used your keyword 15 times, the keyword density for that keyword is…

Keyword density = (Nkr / Tkn) x 100
= (15 / 500) x 100
= 0.03 x 100
=3

Keyword density = 3% !!!

Very good point and I agree that using keywords in title/description will be a strong factor in SEO and help our site more in ranking on search engines.

Further I would link related articles with internal link building which uses the primary keyword as anchor text which leads to the page which you are attempting to rank... i.e. set up silos on your site which funnels link juice to pages which you are aiming to get ranked for competitive terms...

Agreed again but not sure which one is better, internal link building on same site or different sites? for example, i have 4 sites, I should build backlinks over 4 sites or just on per site?
