How many emails for a mailing list

I keep reading that a good email list can make you the most money from internet marketing but I have not been able to find any information on how many emails you would need for your internet marketing. Is there some kind of number that is considered good?

I was also looking to find this out not long ago and could not find any good answers. I did read that many email lists are in the 10,000 and more. I saw some posts that said that some people had about 1 million emails for their marketing lists.

I only have a little over 100 right now I think so I need many more.

I have not heard about a number of emails that is what people think is good but I know you want to have the most you can that are good. I saw some posts where people were saying over 25 thousands is s good list but I don't know if that is right or not.

I have never seen any kind of number or information posted anywhere that says what a good number of emails to have to be considered a good emailing list but I am sure it is a very big number. I have set a goal of reaching 100k emails for mine. I have not even got a small part of that yet but that is my main goal.

The bigger the list the better. But, one can have an email list of 5k subscribers and still end up havingno sales. It all depends on the quality of the list and how to keep them engaged by knowing what they like. You need to know your audience and learn the traits of emailing first before even considering building an email list.

There is no number that would decide how good an email list is because it all depends on the quality of the list as @Smith-K said above.

You can have a small list with a few hundred emails that will do better and make you more money than a list of 50,000 if the quality is better on the one with the hundreds.

Some people get caught up on numbers and not the quality of the list. Quality is better.

However, numbers can still do well but you usually just have to send to a larger number of emails to get the same earnings.

It's all about quality and not quantity.

There is not a magic number of emails that will make an email list considered a good list, it depends on the quality of the email list itself. If you are having good quality targeted emails then of course the more the better.

My most productive email list is one that only has a few hundred emails and performs better than the ones that I have that are in the thousands. It all depends on the quality. ;)

@ulterios , By targeted do you mean interested in your niche?
Yes that's basically what it means. People or businesses who are the type that you would most likely benefit from given the niche that you are in/promoting/marketing.

@KeralMTG , Really, 25 thousand? It seems like that would be a hard number to reach.

@Smith-K , How do I keep them engaged and how do I know if they are?

For that you will need to start crafting content that is worth engaging. Keep posting for a month atleast and then I am sure you will get an idea of where things are heading. Try to use catchy subject lines as that will only increase your open rate. Think about how you can create an excitement. Try to take inspiration from other email marketers.

I have been getting a lot more people signing up for my emailings but I still don't have thousands like many others. I think that many people are wanting good authentic emails that are for the niche they are marketing more than just a number of emails.

How can you tell if the emails are for the niche you are wanting them for?

I always think the more the merrier! I started out with 47 and it was very hard to get those. Then, I went to try out lists for sale and that worked as little too. The best way to get subscribers is to establish yourself as an expert in your niche then offer a newsletter or free ebook you have written for signing up. Make yourself a killer landing page and get to it! Share everything you do on social media and you will gain followers and subscribers. Be all that you can be!

Did the 47 you had produce results for you?

Personally,I think it doesn't have to be the numbers of emails send out.I think it mostly about your contents especially your titles are they catchy enough to make one want to click to see the contents.Another thing, are the emails valid and are you sure it doesn't get to their spam folder.you need to consider all these not just the numbers.

The quality of the email list is a lot more important than large numbers of low quality emails. sure the more, the better, but having good responsive emails is the most important thing.

I have seen some people that have hundreds of thousands of emails on their list but I think that several hundred quality names is a good number to shoot for and then grow from there.
