is email marketing a good way to promote affiliate products?

Remove the unresponsive users to keep your engagement up, which will help with your deliverability.
I have a quick question for you since you have a lot of experience in email marketing pertaining to unresponsive users.

What kind of time frame (or times that you have emailed) would you recommend allowing before you decide that an email recipient should be removed from your regular mailings and it's just wasting time effort and money?

I have always wondered at which point you decide that a particular email address/recipient just is not ever going to open/take action/etc. and stop sending them emails regularly.

I believe the key here is to have an email list with double optins and to build such list one needs to have a funnel in place to capture prospects attention. You should not be pushy at start as your subscribers will come to know that they are just being bombarded by promotional emails. Instead, your focus should be more on providing value at the start. You also start playing around with email subject lines but your also see to it that your body content does not go wrong.
