Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice.

Example of Nofollow Link:

Code:
<a href=" https://www.internetmarketingstar.com" rel="nofollow">Internet Marketing Star</a>

Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink.

Example of Dofollow Link:

Code:
<a href="https://www.internetmarketingstar.com">Internet Marketing Star</a>

Hope its cleared now.

Like Sam said, the nofollow links do not pass link juice in Google. So, if you get nofollow links to your site, don't expect them to help your rankings at all.

Dofollow links pass things like Google Pagerank (authority), link reputation (trust) and relevancy (link anchor text). Those things all help the pages on your website rank higher as you get more of them. If you get dofollow links from high PageRank pages then your page looks more "authoritative" in the eyes of Google and it makes them want to rank the page higher for whatever keywords it is relevant for. If you get dofollow links from places that have a lot of trust "like a research professor's blog at a major university" or a "government website" or a place like "the better business bureau" then those links are usually highly trusted which means those sites also trust your site if they are willing to link out to you. If Google sees that your site is trustworthy enough for a really respectable place to link to it, then Google will trust your site more and want to rank your pages higher. If you get a dofollow link from any decent source and the link uses a keyword as the anchor text for that link, then Google assumes that your page is probably more relevant for whatever words are used as part of that anchor text. This makes Google think your page is more relevant for those words. That can help you rank higher for when someone searches for those keywords in Google.

Be careful using anchor text though. If you use keywords in anchor text for links that come from untrustworthy places (like spam sites) then Google will eventually make that keyword anchor text count against you. That is why it is not smart to go dropping keyword rich dofollow links at random places wherever you can. If you drop dofollow links in low trust places where a spammer could easily drop them, then those links can end up hurting you instead of helping you.

Do follow and no follow are link attributes that instructs search engine crawlers to crawl and index links for a website. 'No follow' links are never crawled by crawlers and hence they are helpful only to generate traffic to your website. 'Do follow' links are those that are helpful to build backlinks as they are crawled and indexed by search engines. These links are helpful to build keyword ranking for your website.

Nofollow

Link which contain Rel=”nofollow” HTML attribute is nofollow the attribute simply assist search engines to know more about the link. Whenever you found a little piece of code in your link i.e. Rel=”nofollow” it mean that the link is nofollow and these types of links does not impact the authority nor help you out to Improve Seo ranking or visibility of your website.

Because rel nofollow tag is a noindex tag which has in fact a clear instruction for Search engines that do not try to index particular link.

By adding the above mentioned code for noindex crawlers simply ignore it and do not give any value nor pass link juice which cannot be prolific for batter ranking in search engines.

Dofollow

It is a type of link which has a potential to improve the ranking and the credibility of your website in Google. By default every link is dofollow, link which does not contain Rel=”Nofollow” Attribute is dofollow and these are considered to be the most powerful links for any websites.

These links allow search engine to doindex and pass link juice which is indeed the most vital thing for webmasters. The credit goes to Google who introduces dofollow link in 2005 to deeply filter search engine results for spam indexing.

If you want to know more about in detail that how to identify and make difference between both of these links then you must read out the valuable source along with video tutorialDifference Between The Code Of Dofollow And Nofollow Linkand you can also learn how to turn Nofollow in to dofollow and Dofollow in to Nofollow.

It's always easiest to understand things when they are put into simple terms for those who do not know things like this. There is really no need to get complicated.

Links from another website to yours:

Nofollow links are links that DO NOT directly help the rankings of your website. They do not pass along any link juice (what helps your site).

DoFollow links are links that DO have a direct impact on the rankings of your site, good or bad depending on if they come from a good or bad site. These pass along link juice.

Cheers, Dean.

Whenever we talk about search engine optimization, some of the common words are noindex, doindex, nofollow, dofollow, meta robots and so on.
Follow links are links that count as points, pushing SEO link juice and boosting the page rank of the linked-to sites, helping them go higher in the SERPs as a result.
Vice versa, a no follow link is a link that does not count as a point in the page’s favor, does not boost PageRank, and doesn’t help a page’s placement in the SERPs. No follow links get no love. Theirs is a sad and lonely life.
