Where have you bought your domains?

Between Godaddy, namecheap and name.com, which one do you prefer?

I have bought many domains from each and Namecheap is my choice for my favorite registrar. Their support is absolutely awesome! They always take care of whatever I need, fast and accurately! :Thumb:

I prefer namecheap myself with namesilo close behind. Namecheap support is just so much better than all others I have tried it makes them a hard choice to beat.

Godaddy has support people that are real nice and friendly on the phone, I just hate calling them because of the never-ending nagging about up-selling and upgrades. Now that they have changed their coupon code policies, they are losing lots of customers. Their renewal rates are ever-climbing as well so that's a big downside.

Namecheap is my favorite until they give me a reason to change that, I don't plan on that changing.

Cheers, Dean

I prefer Namecheap for registaring my domain names online. Their support is great. While I have some bad experiences with Godaddy. Their control panel is bit complicated and their support team is really horrible.

All of the registrars just point the domain name to servers. So the main factor would be the pricing and support. All the others bells and whistles are normally not required by the normal consumer. So for me namesilo is more than sufficient. I do have some domains with GoDaddy but they were usually due to some promotions going on.

I use Namecheap and Godaddy usually. They both have their benefits but if I had to choose one then it would be Namecheap. Name.com is good too but I haven't used them in a while so I don't know if they are still good.

Nice to see this information I have been thinking of using godaddy or 1 and 1 so I think godaddy will be better since many people like them. If not then I will try to use namecheap.

I bought my domain name from godaddy and I would recommend you to do the same thing because they have sales running on domains names most of the time. Also they provide a wide variety of hosting and website builder options. This can be very helpful if you are a beginner.

I've never used the Godaddy website builder, is it any good?

I was thinking since it should be simple to use and setup that it might be good for landing pages and squeeze pages since they do not need to be anything fancy.

Godaddy website builder is very simple and offers few pages such as About page, Home page, and contact page. And sometimes a few more but not a lot. If you want to make landing pages, thank you pages, and build customized pages, then I would NOT recommend godaddy website builder because it doesn't allow you to do that. So according to my opinion, godaddy's website builder isn't any good if you want to do Internet Marketing, blogging, or any other kind of product selling. There are many other hosting companies where you can literally press a button and upload all of your landing pages to your website. So if you are a beginner, you can still upload any HTML file with any kind of hosting.
Good Luck!

So the website builder script itself won't allow those pages or is it a godaddy policy or rule?

It's not godaddy, its the website builder that's been designed that way.
That's good to know. It's just that with godaddy you never know which is why I asked. They like to put limits on things like the fact that they have certain wordpress plugins that they don't allow. These things always make me wonder if it's them or not.

I have used godaddy mostly but lately they changed their control panel and made things a lot harder to find and made the navigation harder. They also got rid of a lot of their promo codes so I am probably going to be looking for another registrar.

I bought mine at namecheap because of what some members here said. They seem really nice and they have good prices from what I have seen.

I use GoDaddy and Namecheap both as my registrars, but have never used either one for hosting. My experiences with Godaddy hosting has been limited to client sales and transfers out. but from what I've heard is that their servers themselves are slow and restrictive. On the other hand, their technical support has always received great reviews and I like their call-back option during the peaks times of the day....

Don't use Godaddy web hosting unless you want to pay for extra resources above what is included in their plans. I kept getting low ram warnings and messages to buy additional ram. The extra cost is more than it would be to get better hosting somewhere else.
