Hello friends. I am wanting to know if doing reviews for affiliate items is good for making money from marketing the affiliate items?

I searched and found several places that said reviews can make good money but the information was a couple years old. Is this still good for affiliate marketing?

Thank you.

In my opinion writing reviews for affiliate items all depends on whether or not you are promoting those items on your blog or website.

The problem that I have with most positive reviews is that the people writing the reviews are normally associated in some way with the product. In my opinion that takes away most of the credibility of the review. It is very difficult for many people to stay unbiased in their reviews if they have a monetary gain in the product selling. If you are promoting the product on your blog or website how can you honestly give it an unbiased review.

Doing studies on the review process and a lot of research on who is actually doing the reviews, many of the reviews posted on the web are written by professional review organizations and individuals that gain from the product itself. So with that said, most of us put very little credence in the actual review knowing that is one way or another it is going to be slanted based on how the writer wants the review perceived.

So if you really believe in the product, go for it and see if it is a way to generate any type of revenue. But if you are doing it merely to generate revenue with out truly believing in the product or even using the product, I can not do that. My integrity is worth more that a couple of bucks for misleading an unsuspecting audience.

Just my thoughts.....

Thank you for your help. I was thinking about finding affiliate products and doing some research to see if the product is good. If it is good then I will review the product and have the review on my website. If the product is not good then I will not do anything with that product.

I am only wanting to do reviews for items which are good ones and not bad. I think if you do that for bad items you will have people not happy if they buy the product and it is not good. I do not want unhappy people on my website.

I think that if you do nice quality and honest reviews then that would be a plus. Many of the reviews I have read on affiliate items were by people who just said what they thought you wanted to hear, you could tell in their writing.

I think if you do a good honest review then that can help you build a very good reputation and that in return can lead to better earnings. :)

Yes I agree with you. I think if people know they can trust your information then that will keep them coming back to your website. If they think you are not being honest with your reviews then they will go to another website.

Doing reviews on affiliate items is a good way to drive traffic. Just make sure that you are always honest in your reviews, good or bad.

After you have done your review then you can market your review to help drive traffic to your site. Reviews are one of the most searched things that people look for, in general.

Provide your readers with a good review and hopefully that will gain their respect and trust so that they will continue to visit your site and even make some purchases from your affiliate ads.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Dean.

I was looking the last couple days and found a lot of marketing on social media for web hosting and other affiliate things where people had done reviews so if you decide to do reviews then the social websites will probably be a good place to post and market your reviews.

I just thought you might want to know this if you did not know already. :)

Yes I agree that it is best to be honest always with your reviews. I have seen many reviews and the person was lying about the products. I will not do that because respect and honesty are very valuable to me. I think that you are right and the reviews can get more visitors to my website. I am hoping to get a little some soon to start building my website. Still a few more things to do but soon it will be going. Thank you.

Yes I think that is very true. The social websites have so many people and marketing on them will help to get website visitors and maybe make some income. I do it mostly to learn but income will be nice also. Thank you.

Lots of the review sites make good money. If you do it just always give honest, open and candid reviews and try to reply to any comments or questions that your reviews get. This will help build trust and respect with your readers.

I know several people that make good money by having review websites or blogs and have told me some of the keys to their success. What keeps people coming back to there site over and over again is the fact that they have gained a good reputation for always being honest.

It can be easy to make a few bucks by just posting what you think people want to hear and making money from that but that's not the way to gain the trust of your readers. Be honest in your reviews and people will start to trust you and go to your site when they need a review because they know that they can trust your honest reviews. That can be the difference in making money over the long haul and get more earnings total versus just telling people something just to sell something!
