What other social media site is good for marketing?

Hey everyone, I have a question for you. Outside of Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin, what are some of the other social media sites that are good for marketing purposes?

I am not looking for any one that is good for a particular niche but just good overall.

I am thinking about expanding my social media efforts for some of my sites and I am not sure where to start trying things out. I am not looking to market videos at this time so Youtube is not going to be considered at this time.

I have been thinking about Pinterest, Instagram and couple others but I am just looking for some opinions.

Let me know any thoughts or opinions you might have.

Cheers, Dean.

I think that Stumbleupon would be another to check out. I have seen lots of social icons on websites for it lately so it might be worth trying out. Youtube is another to look into if you want to consider that a social media site.

This is going to depend on exactly what you are marketing and depending on what that is then there are some different sites that you can try. Pinterest work good for cooking, home and garden, some health related and anything that can be highly visual. YouTube is another good one that works well. Creating a video and posting it on YouTube then promoting that video can work well for many different niches.

Most of the big social type networks are good for one form of marketing or another, it all depends on what you are marketing and even what your target audience is.

I know that Pinterest is good for home related niches because I see all the home niche websites using them for promotion. I am not sure if they are good for all niches but things that use a lot of images will probably do well on that social system.

I have been on Pinterest lately, no big following though. The reason I think it is great is because the app allows for instant pinning when you are browsing the net, making it very easy to add pins. I am focusing on health, inspiration etc. as Pinterest is primarily women.

Reddit was not mentioned here but has great potential. I am building up karma first, and it is very hard to actually spam it. If your site is in a niche that is related to some subreddits, you can start posting links occasionally if you high high Karma, but be careful because they are not stupid there. Well not all of them.

I have noticed that most of the pinterest users are females. Anything that has to do with topics women like usually does well on pinterest.

I have never gotten going with Reddit myself. I had been looking into it a little over a year ago and it just didn't appeal to me. I might check more into it at some point as it's one of the most used social interaction sites.

Cheers, Dean.
