Hi friends. I was wondering if the things that are good for seo in wordpress and other cms websites is the same for html websites? Since html websites usually have less code and other things then wouldn't the seo be different for these?

I know some things on how you do them are different but I am meaning the basic seo methods.

Hi Keral,

Yes, basically the same SEO methods and techniques that apply to a WordPress website will apply to an HTML website, or any website for that matter.

There are just different ways to do them. In WordPress you have plugins to help do some of the on-page SEO where as with HTML, you would just code as needed to achieve the same thing.

Off-page SEO is going to be basically the same for any site since what the site is built with doesn't come into play.

Hopefully this helps, but if you have specific questions then feel free to post them. ;)

Thanks I was not sure if it was the same or not. I am going to try to learn about learning some coding from another member on here website and maybe try to learn as much as possible about it so I just want to know a little more about some things before I start trying to learn.

If you read one article per day from seo.alltop.com about SEO, you'll be way ahead of your competition. This site aggregates all of the top SEO articles from the industry. SEO is a never ending battle, so the key is to stay current. Good question by the way - it's all the same.

Thanks Steve. I will check that website out. I only asked this because I never really checked out if SEO methods are the same for html sites because I never thought about doing programming myself. Now I am thinking seriously about it so just wanted to know a few things like this before I start. Thanks for the information.

You are most welcome.

Coding will be a great thing to learn and have knowledge about in this business or marketing and having websites and blog. If you know how to do things then you won't need to rely on others. I say go for it! ;)

On-page SEO is basically the same for all types of websites, it's just that there are different ways of doing things for the different types. In HTML sites like you asked about there is more coding involved since you would be putting all your meta data and other information in manually (unless you have an HTML CMS) where as with Wordpress and other similar softwares you have plugins, add-ons, extensions and so on to do that for you. Of course there are minor differences between HTML vs CMS sites but for the most part it's the same.

Off-page seo is exactly the same no matter what the site is built with since that has no bearing on the SEO factors generally.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Dean.

All websites are built on html. And wordpress also has a html interface.

I know a little about wordpress but not much. Where is the html interface? Is it in the admin control panel?
So if you were to write a blog post, wherever you write, you can put in html tags and normal text together. Here is an example of how it looks like. This is my personal blog that I wrote yesterday. As you can see, I have used html tags and regular text together in same page. Hope you understood what I am trying to say because I now my explanation was bad. Good Luck!Capture.PNG

That is actually a good explanation because I understood it. I thought wordpress put the html tags automatically and you do not have to do them yourself.

HTML is the markup language used to display web pages. Most websites on the internet use HTML with a variety of markup and scripting languages to create web pages.
Advantages of a HTML Website
Little to No Maintenance – Once your website is live, you do not need to install any updates or regularly backup. If nothing is changed, you can just backup your website once and forget about it.

Low Requirements – HTML websites don’t need servers with PHP or MySQL installed on them. They can run on cheaper server with low resources. Although most good web hosting companies offer PHP and MySQL support.
